Hey, I'm Haris,
I was born in 1992 in Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia, and I am now based in Kuala Lumpur. Encouraged by my mother, who was also my schoolā€™s art teacher, Malaysian art has been a part of my life from an early age.
I studied Illustration and earned my diploma from The One Academy. After completing my formal studies, I decided to pursue art as a career and am now a full-time artist. As I continue to develop my visual language, I often experiment with various media combinations and surfaces, wood and textured pressed paper are two of my favorite surfaces to work with. Flora and fauna have always fascinated me, and I love exploring them both symbolically and metaphorically.
In addition to creating my own art, Iā€™m also the founder and leader of a young artist collective studio called Studio Mekar.
